In order to strengthen the research culture at the undergraduate level, bring together different disciplines through collaborative projects, and engage students in applied research processes at an earlier stage, the Interdisciplinary Project School has officially been launched at our university.
This new structure aims to create a shared project ecosystem where students and academics from fields such as engineering, health sciences, agriculture, sports sciences, education, and social sciences can collaborate and contribute to interdisciplinary research through technical, analytical, and innovative approaches.
What Does the Project School Aim to Achieve?
- Developing a strong interdisciplinary project culture
- Providing students with early-stage research experience
- Increasing project production for TÜBİTAK and similar funding programs
- Encouraging academic collaboration across disciplines
- Strengthening the national and international research visibility of our university
Started with a Pilot Structure
The Project School has initially begun with a pilot model involving volunteer academics and a selected group of students. Within this framework, the following objectives are prioritized:
- Integrating technically skilled students into projects from different disciplines
- Establishing interdisciplinary research teams
- Supporting project development and mentorship processes
- Encouraging research- and application-oriented student production
International Research Mobility and Student Participation
In the upcoming phases of the Project School, students are expected to become more actively involved in international research ecosystems through COST Actions and similar global academic networks.
The initiative aims to enable students to:
-
Participate in collaborative research projects with international researchers
-
Join short-term academic mobility programs
-
Gain early exposure to international research culture and project collaboration
Through interdisciplinary project production, students are expected to develop into individuals who can generate projects, establish academic collaborations, and gain research visibility not only nationally but also internationally.
